According to wikipedia, [True Story] The Miracle Mike is a chicken who survived for 18 months after his head had been cut off. It became popular worldwide and made the owner thousands of dollars. There is even an annual “Mike the Headless Chicken Day” in that US state. Most chickens with head don’t even live that long… 18 MONTHS.
On September 10, 1945, farmer Lloyd Olsen of Fruita, Colorado, United States, was eating supper with his mother-in-law and was sent out to the yard by his wife to bring back a chicken. Olsen chose a five-and-a-half-month-old cockerel named Mike. The axe missed the jugular vein, leaving one ear and most of the brain stem intact.

Every disappointment is delayed appointment, but you need to take action, you need to take the bend.
The names Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Thomas Edison and Steve Jobs aren’t usually associated with failure. But before these successful super stars made it big in their respective industries, they first failed, were fired, or heard the word “NO” countless times.
But they never gave up.
After his first audition, Sidney Poitier, who grew up poor in the Bahamas, was told by the casting director, “Why don’t you stop wasting people’s time and go out and become a dishwasher or something?” Poitier went on to win an Oscar for “Lilies of the Field” in 1964 and 1967’s super successful “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner.”
In 1954, When Elvis Presley was still a no-name performer, and Jimmy Denny, manager of the Grand Ole Opry, fired Elvis Presley after just one performance telling him, “You ain’t goin’ nowhere, son. You ought to go back to drivin’ a truck.” Elvis went on to become the second best-selling artists of all time.
After being cut from his high school basketball team, a young Michael Jordan went home and cried in the privacy of his bedroom. But Jordan didn’t let this early-in-life setback stop him from playing the game and the basketball superstar has stated, “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

Am sharing this to demonstrate that if you believe in something big, even bigger than yourself, no ‘headless’ situation will be an obstacle. You will be able to shape your own history against all odds.

Every person including my humble self has reached a point in his life when he wanted something very badly, but he was discouraged and ready to quit. When you’re faced with the choice between continuing to fight a “hopeless” battle or allowing yourself the relief of giving up, how do you choose?
Never give up; you might be closer to reaching your goal than you think
Most times, we are too quick to give up and take the easy way out, because of FEAR and not wanting to pay the price that might be required to continue fighting. We pefer the certainty of quitting to the uncertainty of continuing the fight.
The #2 reason for failure in the world is FEAR. If you can face your fears, success is inevitable.
What we need is courage.
Courage is not the absence of fear, but the conviction that something else is more important than your fear.
